Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Personal protective equipment, now commonly referred to as “PPE” across Canada, is essential for medical personnel and other workers who can be potentially exposed to pathogens and other medical hazards. The type of PPE used depends on the specific exposure risks. For example, administrative staff may only require a face mask, however, health care workers in close contact with sick patients need a full complement of PPE – medical goggles, N95 face mask, gloves and a surgical gown or other protective coverall – for ultimate protection.
